What is a good salary increase to ask for?

What is a negotiation anchor?

An anchor is the first number you put on the table. Research shows that the first number stated in a negotiation has an outsized influence on the final outcome. By anchoring 20% above your true target, you give yourself room to 'concede' while still landing at your goal.
